Bourse May Have 7 Trading Sessions Daily
Officials at the Cambodian Securities Exchange (CSX) may increase the number of daily stock trading sessions from two to seven, giving traders more flexibility to buy and sell, an official at the bourse said yesterday. Currently, trading on the CSX occurs in just two sessions, starting at 8 a.m. until 9 a.m., then again from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with prices adjusted from the first session. With the amended rules to allow for more trading, a new session, with prices adjusted, could occur every half an hour until 11:30 a.m., giving shareholders more flexibility to conduct intraday trading, said Min Kyoung-hoon, chief operations officer of the CSX. … With the bourse’s sole listing, the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, only trading in small volumes, experts said that the the amendment would help bring more investors to the table as well as encourage current traders to keep a closer eye on the market. …
